In addition to the Safety Management System programme, IAAT is also working with consultants, expert members and other key stakeholders in the development of industry-led Good Practice Guidelines. The objective of these guidelines is to set an agreed approach for Irish operators in delivering activities for commercial adventure tourism purposes.
The Good Practise Guidelines are designed to help ensure the effective, responsible, sustainable and safe delivery of adventure activities to dependent participants. They can help people across the outdoor sector to develop appropriately managed adventure activities which enhance individuals and our communities while protecting the environment and culturally significant places. In doing this, the guidelines can help ensure that people will continue to enjoy the benefits of adventure activities well into the future.
