About Us

The IAAT is an independent representative association for the adventure tourism sector on the island of Ireland. This sector is one of the fastest growing and most exciting within Irish tourism and the IAAT aims to work with adventure tourism operators to develop the sector in a sustainable and responsible manner.

Who we are

Our History

On the 11th January 2017, eleven Irish adventure tourism based companies met in Doolin with the purpose of establishing a representative professional association for the adventure tourism sector in Ireland. The decision was made to form an association and great progress was made in the following areas in laying the foundations:

Executive Board of Association

A Board of Directors was established, made up of Ireland's leading operators in the adventure tourism space. See our current board below.

Aims and Goals

A set of 'Aims & Goals' for IAAT was agreed to, which would guide the Association in supporting the success of the sector. Please view here.

Membership Criteria

An original set of Membership criteria was agreed, to guide the types of businesses IAAT would and could support. Please view current criteria here.

Plan of Action

In 2017, an original plan of action was set out. 2025 will see an exciting new 5 year strategy launched, which members will be encouraged to contribute!
